Interview: Bullshark Games x CasinoPro

Can you tell our readers a little about your background, and how Bullshark Games came to life?

I’ve been in the gambling industry for over a decade, starting with poker, which I played professionally for a few years. Eventually, I transitioned to the casino side, working in game testing, casino management, and game development at several well-known companies like Relax Gaming and Yolo Group.

After years of helping others build great products, I knew it was time to start something of my own. That’s how Bullshark Games was born, a studio built by players, for players. Our goal is to bring new twists to familiar mechanics and create games that we, as passionate slot fans, would genuinely enjoy spinning ourselves.

Sweden is a highly competitive market for online slots, what do you think it takes to succeed in this market?

Swedish players are very slot-savvy, they understand volatility, game mechanics, and what makes a slot engaging. To succeed in this market, you need to offer fast, polished gameplay with meaningful win potential, but also make sure the game has depth and replayability.

We’ve found that Swedish players respond well to games that build tension over time, with clear progress and the chance for big moments. That’s something we try to include in all of our releases.

Many players appreciate clear, fast, dynamic gameplay with strong win potential (particularly in Sweden). How does this influence your game design, if at all?

It absolutely influences our design. We always aim for snappy gameplay, low downtime, and mechanics that create a sense of momentum, even when you’re not hitting bonuses.

At the same time, we don’t want everything to feel the same. So, while we keep things dynamic, we also experiment with different pacing and features to give each game its own rhythm. Whether you’re chasing a max win or just enjoying the progression, we want every spin to feel like it matters.

Bullshark Games often mixes classic themes with new twists. How important is it for you to balance familiarity and innovation?

That balance is core to what we do. Familiar themes, like Egypt, Norse mythology, or animals, give players a sense of comfort and recognition. But we always want to do something unexpected with it.

Take Age of Seth for example: Egypt is a well-worn theme, but instead of another pharaoh or treasure hunter, we focused on Seth, a chaotic and lesser-used god, and designed a progressive, high-volatility game that reflects his unpredictable nature. It’s that combination of comfort and surprise that keeps things exciting.

Swedish players often enjoy games with progressive features. Can you tell us about the symbol collection mechanic in Age of Seth and how it keeps players engaged?

The symbol collection mechanic in Age of Seth is all about building tension and anticipation. Every time you collect enough symbols, you unlock a mini-feature, and if you reach 100 symbols, you trigger the Seth Wild, which can lead to massive wins.

This kind of progression system gives players something to aim for with every spin. It creates a strong sense of investment and excitement, especially when you’re close to unlocking a new feature. It’s been a hit with players who enjoy a more strategic, goal-oriented experience.

One important thing to mention is that epic wins can happen at any point in the game, not just when the progression bar is fully filled. If you land a few strong multipliers and big symbols drop in the right spots, the results can be explosive, not to mention a few other sneaky ways to score huge wins.

Volatility is something many players check before playing. How do you approach finding the right volatility for each new Bullshark title?

Volatility is a big part of the emotional journey in a slot. Some games are meant to be fast and steady, while others are designed to feel like high-stakes thrill rides.

We do a lot of manual testing in addition to running simulations to get the feel just right. We look at how the features are paced, how often players hit small versus big wins, and whether the tension builds naturally. Our goal is to make sure the volatility fits both the theme and the mechanics and keeps players excited from start to finish.

Which three Bullshark Games releases would you recommend to Casino Pro readers?

The three games I believe Swedish players might really enjoy are Valhalla: Wild Winter, A Norse-themed game with wild collection mechanics and a clean, satisfying design. Clover Club, a light-hearted and fast-paced, with a simple but addictive multiplier feature, great for quick, rewarding session. Finally, we have Age of Seth. This one’s great if you’re into high volatility and progressive features, it’s unpredictable, intense, and full of big potential.

Each of these games shows a different side of what we’re trying to do at Bullshark, fun, variety, and originality.
